Izzy's First Easter

Easter this year was a great day! Not that the holidays weren't great before, but having a child makes holidays so special and exciting. (I have to pause for a moment, Izzy is attempting to climb up onto the couch and sit like mommy and daddy do... I've gotta go rescue her real quick)!

Okay, I'm back. So, this Easter was great! It was a beautiful day outside, Uncle Stin and Uncle Jesse spent the day with us and stayed for dinner (I made my amazing pulled pork) and we had an Easter egg hunt for Izzy! I think Easter egg hunting is a skill that all children are naturally born with because she knew exactly what to do with the Easter eggs.. Every time she would find one she would put it in the basket and we'd look for the next one, it was the cutest thing in the world. The guys had a lot of fun hiding eggs for her, and Uncle Stin followed us around and took all of these great pictures.

Watch Out, Here She Comes!

Izzy has reached another milestone, she is officially up on all fours, rocking back and forth. Any day now she will be crawling.. she's already taken a couple of crawls forward, but mostly she crawls backwards right now.. Hehe! It's crazy how fast things happen, literally overnight she went from scooting on her belly to on her knees! Also, Thanks Aunt Emma for the super cute baby leg warmers, they are so much fun!

The Laundry Room

We have been wanting to fix up the laundry room for quite a while now and finally we have found the time to do it! After lots of painting and planning, here are some pictures of the finished product!!

This weekend was a project weekend. We have been planning to re-do the laundry room, and since I didn't get to help with any of the painting (which I love) when we first moved in (because I was pregnant) we decided that Luke would be on baby duty and I would get to paint the laundry room. All that to say that Luke and Isabelle had a lot of daddy/daughter time this weekend. They had a blast, can you tell from the pictures?

No Longer A Baby

So, today we had to lower Isabelle's crib mattress because she started pulling herself up and peeking over the top of the rails. She is definetly on the move now. If we stand her up and give her something to hold onto, she will stand on her own, and we can never keep her in one spot on the floor, she always ends up off of her blanket and onto the wood floor, where she proceeds to push herself backwards around the living room, it's really hilarious. Yep, she is no longer a baby, she is a little girl.

My New Sewing Machine

For Christmas I got a new sewing machine, which I am super excited about! I have so many projects that I want to do with it. One of the first projects was to make curtains for Isabelles dresser in her room. Here is a picture, I made them out of fitted bed sheets so that they would match her bedroom theme! I'm so excited.. what am I going to make next??

It's Been A While

Well, It's been quite a while since our last blog. We had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas and were so busy with holidays and traveling that we forgot about our blog, so we thought we would show you what we've been up to lately! Hope everyone is having a great 2009 so far!
